Reintroducing Logic and Reason to the Age of Sentimentalism

Novus Ordo Logic: Heaven Is For Everyone

A common trend within Novus Ordoism is the idea that those outside the Church can go to Heaven, while those who adhere to Catholicism as taught for 2,000 years can’t.

We see this attitude most clearly when we look at how Novus Ordoism perceives those who adhere to the SSPX or Sedevacantism.

Members of the SSPX reject the Second Vatican Council, accept the Pope, accept God the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, accept Jesus Christ in the Eucharist and accept Catholicism. They are viewed as divisive and treated as if they were schismatic, which they aren’t. The general attitude is that they are in danger of going to Hell if they do not accept the Second Vatican Council.

Sedevacantists reject the Second Vatican Council, reject the Pope, accept God the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, accept Jesus Christ in the Eucharist and accept Catholicism. They too are viewed as divisive and treated as schismatic, simply because they do not follow the Pope.

On the contrary, more tenderness and mercy is expressed the father *away* one walks from Catholicism.

Protestants reject the Second Vatican Council, reject the Pope, accept God the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, reject Jesus Christ in the Eucharist and reject Catholicism. They are seen as Heaven bound because of their supposed faith in Jesus Christ, even though this faith rejects the Church He founded.

Jews reject the Second Vatican Council, reject the Pope, accept God the Father, reject the Son and the Holy Ghost, reject Jesus Christ in the Eucharist and reject Catholicism. They are seen as Heaven bound because of their supposed faith in the Father despite Jesus’ warnings that no one comes to the Father but through Him.

Muslims reject everything and have a flawed view of God the Father, yet they are seen as Heaven bound because of this misunderstood understanding of who God the Father is and their faith in this view, no matter how flawed it is.

And the farther away someone walks from Catholicism, the more excuses Novus Ordoism makes for why it is okay.

In Novus Ordoism, when it comes to Catholics who truly believe in the Catholic faith and are willing to stand by it, they are treated as the oddballs, especially by their brothers and sisters in the faith. Meanwhile, those who have chosen not to be part of the Catholic Church receive love and consolation for their choice. It’s as if Novus Ordoism is proud to be Catholic, but not too Catholic, lest they are viewed as weird.

Sedevacantists *need* to rejoin the Catholic Church to achieve salvation. However, they are more Catholic and closer to the Truth than any other person who is *outside* the Church.

This attitude that those who adhere to the rules of the Church and Jesus are somehow “bad Catholics” needs to stop from all Catholics, including the insults perpetrated by Pope Francis.

There is but one way to salvation, and that is through Our Lord Jesus Christ and His Church. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one gets to the Father but through Him.

Novus Ordo Logic: The Latin Mass is Eh, the Novus Ordo is Great!

In this first of a new series, I’d like to explore a particular phenomenon that you may witness in many Catholic parishes these days which I’d like to dub “Novus Ordo Logic.”

Novus Ordo Logic is how modern Catholics apply illogical conclusions to post-conciliar and pre-conciliar Catholicism or the excuses they make for the inconsistencies between the two.

Tridentine Mass

One common difference comes when comparing those who prefer the Traditional Latin Mass to the Novus Ordo Mass. Whenever a Catholic who prefers the Novus Ordo talks about how they don’t like the Traditional Latin Mass and try to avoid it at all costs, they receive words of consolation confirming them that they are okay for having this opinion.

In contrast, whenever a Catholic who prefers only the Traditional Latin Mass expresses his preference and unwillingness to go to the Novus Ordo, they are reproached for being “schismatic,” “holier than thou,” “pharisaical,” or some other offense from the litany of insults.

Novus Ordo Vs Traditional Latin Mass

It is interesting to see the complete difference in attitudes. Both the Novus Ordo preferring Catholic and the Latin Mass preferring Catholic have the same stance, yet one is received with generosity and love, the other with hostility and hate. Even more intriguing, the one who prefers the Mass which many of our Catholic Saints had celebrated during their time here on Earth and is about 17 centuries old, is the one who receives attacks.

Novus Ordo Catholicism doesn’t like traditional Catholicism, as Novus Ordoism perceives tradition as old, stale, difficult, and the Truth. The anger, hatred, and eagerness to discredit the Traditional Latin Mass and those who attend it is a concerning trend within the Church today. According to Novus Ordo Logic, you can dislike the TLM and discuss how great the NO is, but when you dislike the NO and discuss how great the TLM is, you are treated worse than an actual enemy of the Church.
