Cheaters Gonna Cheat

With all of the news about the adult affair site Ashley Madison filling their database with fake female profiles, I was left with one thought:

Cheating

A bunch of cheaters are surprised that a cheating website lied about the number of female cheaters they actually had? What is the world coming to when cheaters can’t trust cheaters?

The Church. Is. Not. Well.

Almost 500,000 signatures have been collected on a petition asking Pope Francis to reiterate Church teaching at the Synod of the Family. Which Church teaching? That the divorced, remarried, and those who actively engage in homosexual activity are to not receive Our Lord in the Most Holy Eucharist.

Pope Francis Upset

Let that sink in for a minute. Half a million Catholics felt the urgency to sign a petition asking the Pope to teach Catholic doctrine. The Church estimates there are 1.2 billion Catholics in the world, even though it is likely that only 10% actually practice their faith. Yet we are led to believe by those in the Catholic media that everything is going fine. There is no crisis of the faith they tell us. Pope Francis is being mistranslated and used by the secular media, they say. He will reign in the Synod and proclaim Catholic teaching.

If that is so, then why do 500,000 Catholics feel the need to ask the Pope to do his job? The Church is amidst a crisis of faith unseen since the days of St. Athanasius, and we are to believe that everything is fine and that the Church is strong.

Remember the days when the only people petitioning the Pope were the ones asking him to change Church teaching? These days Catholics have to petition the Pope to uphold Church teaching.

The Church is not healthy. The Church is not well.

The Battle Leaves One Weary

Today is a day that I do not feel like writing. But I am going to force myself to, because staying silent only allows the enemy to continue his onward march while the Truth is suppressed at every turn.

I’m finding it difficult to write mainly because I have lost hope in humanity. Now if you read my blog on a regular basis, I’m not speaking of you. On the contrary, I’m speaking of those who refuse to recognize and submit to the Truth no matter how it’s presented to them. We see the truth take the forms of the Gospel and the humanity of aborted babies.

In the last month, there have been seven videos released that explain the corruption behind Planned Parenthood and their destruction of little babies. The abortionists and other PP employees even admit to these babies as not clumps of cells or a fetuses, but as babies. They harvest the organs of these poor babies and sell them to the highest bidder.

A couple of months ago we were fighting the battle that the baby was a clump of cells or a fetus. Pro-abortionists would not recognize the humanity of these innocent children. We now have visual proof that these are indeed human babies (because somehow pro-choicers don’t understand science), and instead of admitting how disgusting, revolting, and evil these acts are, they tell us that it’s okay, because it’s legal.

We are dealing with the utmost evil of individuals when they will look at an aborted baby and continue to support it, despite that they are looking at an aborted baby. There is no way one can look at the above image and not come to the conclusion that they are looking at a baby, a baby who has no ability to defend himself as he has the slightest inkling as to what is occurring around him. A baby who relied upon his mother to nurture him and take care of him, only for his mother to end his life because he was likely deemed “an inconvenience”.

Too many people are engrossed in their own wills that they refuse to look at reality and submit. They choose to be their own gods by destroying the most vulnerable of children, all the while throwing a temper tantrum because a dentist shot and killed a lion in Zimbabwe in which the Zimbabweans could care less about. The astonishing take away from this is the utter hypocrisy we see from these people in which they act as if they are completely free to do as they please, while infringing upon the rights of everyone around them, denying them up to the point of death as in the case of abortion.

Meanwhile, many Catholics are completely in denial or gullible in their belief that the Synod of the Family is going to be good for the Church, or thinking that Pope Francis will reign in these dissident bishops. They claim to love Jesus Christ Truly Present in the Eucharist, but their love for Jesus in the Eucharist is so minute that they have no problem in allowing those who are in public mortal sin to receive Him, despite the doctrinal teachings that say otherwise.

There is a lot of evidence to demonstrate how Pope Francis is trying to run the Synod into the ground, especially with his remark on how Cardinal Kasper’s theology is serene. But no matter what evidence we present to our fellow Catholics to demonstrate these truths, we are met with resistance, papolatry, and are returned with spiteful, venomous, and uncharitable retorts. The unforgivable sin today is not denial of the Holy Ghost, but rather, to not stick to the status quo of the post-conciliar Catholic Church, even though the PC Church has failed Catholics and Jesus Christ for the last 50 years.

I believe we are at a point where those who want to be on the side of God are already there. There are very few fence sitters that need convincing. Everything has been thrown onto the table and those who want to follow the Truth have already done so.

Even though the battle is beginning to wear us all down, I think it is important that we continue to evangelize in whichever medium you are called to. Whether that is writing, blogging, debating on Facebook or Twitter, talking to your friends, family or colleagues. At a minimum, we might grab a few more over to God’s side. More importantly, we will continue to encourage each other to live a good, holy life that is pleasing to God.

While the world is falling apart around us, we must keep our eyes toward Heaven and know that our trust is in the Lord, and that we are not alone in this fight. It will get rougher, but we need to stay strong. GO TO CONFESSION WEEKLY. GO TO MASS. PRAY THE ROSARY DAILY. Stay in a state of grace so that you may have the graces necessary to overcome adversity when it presents itself, as well as to be ready for judgment if you are called by Our Heavenly Father.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Have Mercy on us.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, Pray for us.

Saints for the Synod: A Missed Opportunity for Intercession

I have a new post over at One Peter Five. In it I ask if it wouldn’t have made more sense to canonize the parents of St. Therese of Lisieux prior to the Synod, as oppose to its conclusion.

The Martins

Pope Francis will canonize Blessed Louis and Azelie Martin, the parents of St. Therese of Lisieux, at the conclusion of the Synod of the Family this October. For devotees of St. Therese and married couples looking for models within the Church Triumphant, this is exciting news.

These Ominous Storms Keep Rolling Through

As I write this post, the thunder rumbles in the distance. The lightning illuminates the sky to the south, breaking apart the darkness on this late night. This has been one of many summer thunderstorms that we’ve had this year. The quantity of storms isn’t much different than other summers, but the quality of these storms is more aggressive. These storms have been darker, louder, and scarier. I’m not sure why, whether it’s because I’m getting older and have more responsibilities with a wife and child, but it seems to me that these storms are an ominous sign of things to come. God is not happy.

Lightning Storm

This summer has been the first time I have witnessed lightning storms in which the lightning dances across the sky as if it were a strobe light setting the atmosphere at a club on Saturday night. These storms are not isolated to the area either; they are massive, ranging across several states at once. I fear they will only get worse.

Both the Church and the World are in utter chaos. The World has gone the way of Sodom and Gomorrah, approving homosexual “marriage” and abortion in just about every country. Countries once known for their rich Catholic heritage have been aggressively plummeting into moral chaos as if the world was going to end tomorrow. Unfortunately, the Church is being steered into this direction as well, thanks to a select number of prelates who would love to prove Christ wrong when He said the gates of Hell would not prevail against His Church. Their hatred for God and the Church is so strong that they will stop at nothing to lead as many souls astray.

The Synod on the Family is approaching, now only two months away. I fear that we will see the blasphemy of the divorced, “remarried”, and actively homosexual allowed to receive the Holy Eucharist, without the necessity of conversion. This will anger God greatly.

We must be steadfast in our prayer and always in a state of grace, avoiding any sin, including venial. While our prayer can be strongly effective in begging for Our Lord to intervene, I think He is looking for a fresh start. God will allow these heinous sins to continue through His permissive will, and His justice will rain down upon the Earth, destroying all of His enemies. We must also be humble enough to pray for our own sanctification and salvation during this time, as well as for that of our families, friends, and those we care about. We must always remember that no matter how bad it gets, Jesus Christ is still God and has given us the opportunity to spend eternity with Him. We must follow Him and observe all that He has taught us. Double your efforts to live a holy life. Go to confession, pray the Rosary daily, and avoid the near occasion of sin.
