URGENT: Cardinal Dolan Cancels Archbishop Sheen’s Canonization

September 3, 2014 | 4 Comments

I was just made aware with utter shock and horror that Cardinal Dolan has cancelled Archbishop Fulton Sheen’s canonization process.

This was released by the Diocese of Peoria, Illinois in a news release today.

You can read the entire thing here.

With the attempted closing of Holy Innocents Parish in Mahnattan and Cardinal Dolan’s adement support for homosexuals, it is clear that this Prince of the Church is not a fan of the actual teachings of the Church which he is supposed to defend.

Cardinal Dolan will be the Grand Marshall of next year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, a parade that is well known for its support of homosexuals.

But, you know, “God bless ’em!”

UPDATE:

On February 9, 2011, the Archdiocese of New York wrote a letter to Archbishop Fulton Sheen’s cause expressing their “satisfaction and joy over the current announcement”. Even though then-Archbishop Dolan was visiting then-Pope Benedict XVI he wanted to “express his congratulations and gratitude for the good news to Bishop Daniel Jenky”.

UPDATE #2 (9/4/2014 11:22pm):

I’ve written my thoughts on the entire matter here.

4 people are talking about “URGENT: Cardinal Dolan Cancels Archbishop Sheen’s Canonization

  1. I don’t get it. Was the miracle disproven? I would support that, assuming that it really was disproven.

Archbishop Sheen is awesome, but if there’s no miracle, there’s no miracle.

If we dismiss the disproval of miracles, we risk making a mockery of the sainthood process. Maybe it will take centuries for Sheen’s sainthood, as it did for so many others, there is no dishonor in that.

    • It actually has nothing to do with the miracle at all. Cardinal Dolan did not want to have Archbishop Sheen’s remains moved back to the Diocese of Peoria.

  2. Dolan is a heretic through and through. The only time this chesire cat grinning modernist shows any hint of seriousness or reverence is when he is the presence of jews or muslims. When it comes to matters of the traditional Catholic faith and morals, he is as giddy as a court jester! Going out of his way to entertain the enemies of Christ by stripping His holy church of any hint of authority!
